Our training services are aimed at teaching dogs new skills.
Our Behaviour modification services are designed to help dogs for which underlying emotions (fear, anxiety, frustration) are driving behaviour problems. For example, when a dog is scared of other dogs, it may bark and lunge at them while on leash to make them go away. The barking and lunging behaviours are not the result of a training deficit, but rather stem from a genuine fear. With behaviour modification, our goal is to change a dog's underlying feelings towards scary situations. Other examples of behaviour problems for which behaviour modification are appropriate are: general anxiety, separation anxiety, resource guarding, nuisance barking, etc.
If your dog is displaying concerning behaviours towards other dogs on or off the lead, please book a behaviour modification course.
Please note that there is a 15% discount for dogs adopted from shelters or rescued from unsafe situations within one year of adoption.
If you're still unsure about whether you should be booking basic training or a behaviour modification course, please contact Catherine to discuss further (free of cost), by emailing catherine@epic-tails.ca or by clicking on the link below:
